Due to continued growth our award winning wine team has a new opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking individual to join our leading procurement company as an Assistant Wine Buyer sourcing wines exclusively for a Top 4 retailer. IPL is an exciting fast paced business with a wine team committed to our customer and our product.

Working with the Senior Buyer/Buyer you will; support the Commercial Team sourcing wines on a global basis; work in partnership with the Technical team ensuring optimum wine quality; manage and negotiate commercial agreements with Suppliers; and update systems and contribute to improving processes within the team.

We are looking for;

  • Ambitious candidates who can demonstrate strong commercial skills

  • Proven experience working as a Buying Assistant with exposure to negotiating with Suppliers

  • A working knowledge of wine is essential

  • Ideally you will have some knowledge of the retail supply chain

  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders

  • WSET Level 3 essential or equivalent experience

  • Strong planning skills and attention to detail, able to demonstrate working on numerous administrative tasks

  • WSET Level 4 is desirable
