Bolney Wine Estate in West Sussex is one of the pioneers of the English wine industry and has been a family business since 1972. We are a producer of premium English still and sparkling wines.
At the Estate we welcome thousands of visitors a year for vineyard and winery tours and corporate events and to our on-site café, bar & restaurant.
Bolney is growing successfully and looking for an enthusiastic individual to support our continued growth and forward-looking culture on a temporary, part-time basis.

Duties to include:
· Meet wine club sales target £100 wine spend per couple plus 2 Wine club conversion per month.
· Conduct tours of Bolney Wine Estate to the specification provided. Understanding the history of Bolney, current practices, and the English wine industry, showing an excellent understanding of the operations around the production of our wines.
· Set up and clear down all areas used, to deliver the tour as at the specified time.
· Being punctual and prepared to start your shift on time and ensure tours are completed within the framework allocated.
· Ensure you maintain a neat and professional appearance.
· To keep a clean, tidy work area including glassware for tastings.
· Deliver excellent customer service and adapting to guests and operational needs.
· Operate and reconcile the tour tills for sales and end of day operations.
· Ensure hygiene standards, health and safety regulations and emergency policies, are strictly observed, and legal records made.
· Restock and merchandise the tour rooms to fit around the tours schedule.
· Prepare charcuterie boards/tasting plates as per the tour manager’s request, maintaining food hygiene standards.
· Removal of bins, washing up of tour crockery, and closedown of the washroom as required.
· At Bolney we work very much as a team. As an employee of Bolney you must be prepared to support other work colleagues and required to take on extra or different tasks to help support others.
· Attendance of training sessions and bank holidays when required.
· Attend compulsory training sessions.
The role will involve evening and weekend working, evening work may be occasional. Bolney are looking for a candidate with a willingness to work to flexible working patterns.
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- Working towards, or already achieved WSET 2
- Computer literate
- Interest in and knowledge of viticulture and winemaking
- A confident outlook when dealing with customers face to face and a can-do attitude.
- Strong communication skills. Sound computer skills to use our retail POS system, Word, Excel, internet, and email.
- Driver’s License essential due to location
Interview Process:
Stage 1
Telephone or video introduction with Recruiter to discuss application, interest in role, and suitability for the role.
Stage 2
Interview with hiring manager and HR via Teams. Interview questions can be issued in advance.
Stage 3
Interview with hiring manager and senior manager onsite.
