Description
A number of vacancies will arise shortly for Spirit Store Operatives based in the Bond Department at Midleton Distillery and reporting to the Spirit Store Supervisor.
Main responsibilities include:
· Unloading various types of casks in a safe and efficient manner
· Ensure compliance to all company and site policies
· Ensure all relevant Bond Procedures and Quality, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to
· Actively bring value adding process improvement ideas to contribute positively to a high performing team.
· Filling and emptying of casks
· Stacking full and empty casks in warehouse and empty cask store using electric powered forklifts
· Filling and emptying of tankers in the Vathouse tanker station
· Ensure hygiene and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards
· Ensure all casks are handled in a safe, careful and efficient manner
· Operating the production line equipment such as the stacker, bander and coding system
· Carry out sampling of casks in warehouse
· Be aware of risks and risk assessments that apply to each task
Skills and attributes required:
· Minimum Leaving Certificate or equivalent
· Strong experience of bringing new ideas and adding value to the work place
· Must have a desire to learn and a comfort using new technology.
· Knowledge and awareness of quality, environmental, health and safety implications.
· Excellent communications skills
· A highly motivated self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude
· A strong team player who is flexible, reliable and can build effective relationships
· Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team
The following although not essential will place candidates at an advantage in the selection process :
· Significant experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
· Fork Lift License
Working Hours
The basic working week will be 11:00am to 7:30pm (Monday – Thursday) and 11:00am to 6:30pm on Friday.
