Greyfriars is an exciting award-winning sparkling wine grower-producer located on the Hog’s Back (North Downs) near Guildford in Surrey. With 14 hectares under vine and a state-of-the art winery and production facilities we have been producing award winning wines since 2011.
Greyfriars’ rapidly growing Direct to Consumer (“DTC”) operations have become a very important part of our business and include tours, tastings, and other events as well as physical and online sales. The successful applicant will be responsible for the continued delivery of all our DTC operations, as well as the strategic development of our DTC business capitalising on the quality of our wines and the location of our beautiful vineyard. The position combines a mix of hospitality, retail and wine expertise. As a senior member of the Greyfriars team, you will be part of the leadership group which will build on Greyfriars’ success and take it to the next level.
Location: Greyfriars Vineyard, Hogs Back, Puttenham, Surrey, GU3 1AG
Hours of work: Full-time (40 hours per week) based in person at the vineyard. Regular working days are Tuesday – Saturday, with occasional evening, Sunday and Bank Holiday work.
What you will do:
- Be responsible for the management and delivery of our public and private tours, tasting events, wine clubs, and overall Tasting Room/Cellar Door Shop operations to drive direct to consumer sales.
- Manage the team required to deliver our DTC operation
- Be responsible for all visitors to Greyfriars having a world-class experience.
- Co-ordination of contact with visitors and retail customers via email, phone, social media or in person.
- Be responsible for retail e-commerce sales, including developing online sales strategy, promotions etc
- Manage administration of all bookings, events and retail enquiries.
- Co-manage and deliver the marketing and PR efforts of the vineyard.

- Someone who can deliver a superb hospitality experience and customer service and will take pride in representing Greyfriars in this customer-facing role to drive direct to consumer sales.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, quick thinking and leadership skills are essential in this job.
- Someone who is comfortable working in a varied and often physical role.
- Someone that loves being part of a team and enjoys communicating, but is also a self-starter.
- Someone who is able to lead and easily build relationships with fellow team members and customers.
- Prior experience/knowledge of wine is preferred.
- Having a sense of humour and a good work ethic is essential in this job.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
