Greyfriars Vineyard is located just outside Guildford on the Hogs Back in Surrey and within 10 minutes drive from Guildford Station and 45 minutes drive from London. The 14 Hectare site is planted with predominately the three classic "champagne" varieties as well as some Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc. 

 

We are seeking two persons to support and work alongside our full time vineyard team from December 2021 to the end of March 2022 with the potential for extending the work period past April. Candidates will report directly to the Vineyard Manager and his assistant. The work is on the whole manual labour based and for the most part takes place outdoors. 

 

Duties: 

• Vine Pruning 

• Wood pulling

• Tying down the canes 

• Trellis maintenance

Candidates need to have:

• A strong work ethic, happy to work as part of the team as well as being motivated to work alone and in all weather conditions. 

• Vineyard/work experience beneficial, especially pruning but not necessarily essential as extensive training will be given.

• A degree of flexibility in working hours depending on the season’s weather.

• UK Driver’s Licence

• A competitive salary dependent on experience

• Accommodation on site is available for the entire duration of the employment if required and this will affect salary amount.
