The Role
You will be the initial face of Gusbourne so you’ll have the confidence, people skills and wine knowledge to be an engaging, friendly host. You will welcome visitors, give a background to the business and the English wine industry and host tutored tastings of a range of wines.
Key Accountabilities
• Welcoming guests and being an exemplar of outstanding customer service.
• Leading drop-in and pre-booked tastings for individuals and groups, tailoring the content to the needs of different visitors.
• Being an authority on wine, the English wine scene, and Gusbourne wines.
• Representing the brand and upholding Gusbourne’s values and standards.
• Using the till and selling memberships, events, and bottles.
• Achieving sales and performance targets.
• Working as a team and individually to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Applying all health and safety and environmental practices within the defined area of responsibility.
Role Requirements
• An engaging personality, willingness and ability to provide guests with exceptional service.
• Enthusiasm and love of wine is essential. WSET Level 2 or above is desirable.
• Confidence in hosting tastings for guests at all knowledge levels
• Experience within retail, tourism, or hospitality is desirable.
• Good physical fitness; you’ll be on your feet for much of the time.
• An ability to build relationships, friendly, helpful, confident, and resilient.

Job Type and Salary
• Part Time, April to October.
• 10:00-17:00 with occasional evening work.
• A minimum of two days per week to include at least one weekend day.
• Competitive salary based on experience.
