Business Development Manager – On-Trade Wine Sales

Position Overview:
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our presence in the B2B sector by forging new connections with new customers. From cosy cafes to bustling bars, you’ll be the face of Humble Grape, championing our portfolio and providing tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of each establishment. If you’re a sales-driven wine lover, with a knack for storytelling and a palate for fine wine, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive sales through cultivating and nurturing relationships with B2B customers in the Wine Sector, including restaurants, bars, hotels and wine shops.
2. Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities within the on-trade sector, leveraging your industry knowledge and network.
3. Generate and implement a business development plan, in conjunction with the Head of Wine and Head of Operations, that maximises the commercial potential of prospect accounts.
4. Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline, showing revenue, profit opportunity and progress.
5. Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to make informed strategic decisions and initiatives.
6. Represent Humble Grape at industry events, tastings, and trade shows, embodying our values and ethos with pride and enthusiasm.
7. Deliver against sales targets set by the business as part of the overall on-trade budget.
Qualifications:
– Minimum 2 years of experience in Business Development Management in the B2B – Wine Sector.
– WSET Level 3 (minimum)
– Proven track record of new business generation in the B2B – Wine Sector.
– Proven strong negotiation and networking skills in key and multiple accounts.
– Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in a dynamic and competitive environment.
– Deep understanding of the wine sector and current trends.
– Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect authentically with clients and colleagues alike.
– Self-motivated, results-driven, coachable and adaptable, with a genuine passion for the wine industry and a commitment to excellence.
– Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend events.
