With locations in Tunbridge Wells, Wadhurst, Oxted, and Forest Row, we are expanding our team and seeking a Retail Wine Director to help drive our retail success.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Retail Wine Director to oversee and coordinate key aspects of our multi-outlet retail operations. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring a first-class customer experience—both in-store and online—while supporting the growth of our premium wine and spirits business.
You will work closely with our Retail Managers, General Manager, and Co-CEO to maintain product consistency, manage promotions, and drive sales across our locations.
Key Responsibilities
• Retail Leadership: Support daily shop operations, ensuring smooth service and a welcoming customer experience.
• Customer Engagement: Confidently recommend wines to customers, both in-store and over the phone, using your product knowledge to enhance their experience.
• Sales & EPOS Management: Operate our modern EPOS till system, process transactions, and manage stock levels.
• Stock & Merchandising: Keep shelves well-stocked, maintain a visually appealing retail environment, and ensure consistency across all outlets.
• Promotions & Events: Assist in coordinating wine tastings, seasonal promotions, and marketing campaigns.
• E-Commerce & Logistics: Oversee online order fulfillment, ensuring timely deliveries and customer satisfaction.
• Marketing Support: Help implement creative marketing strategies and design standout seasonal displays.
Key Objectives
• Drive Sales: Help achieve ambitious monthly sales targets across all retail locations.
• Coordinate Product Ranges & Promotions: Ensure a uniform core range of products across all outlets.
• Grow Our Customer Base: Build strong relationships with customers, fostering loyalty both in-store and online.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a retail-management experienced, passionate wine enthusiast who is proactive, organized, and customer-focused. The ideal candidate will balance exceptional service with strong business acumen, ensuring our shops deliver both outstanding customer experiences and strong commercial results
Essential Skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent understanding of wines and spirits (WSET L2 minimum preferred).
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• A people person – personable, confident and well presented.
• A positive, happy, can-do attitude with excellent communication skills.
• Physically able to lift and move cases of wine as needed.
• Willingness to work weekends and occasional evenings for events.
• Full UK driving license and flexibility to cover shifts across all locations as required.
Desirable attributes
• Experience updating and managing an e-commerce website (adding products, prices, etc.).
• Ability to manage customer databases and coordinate email marketing campaigns.
