Harvest Cellar Hand (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Harrow & Hope are looking for a temporary Cellar Hand for the upcoming 2024 vintage.  

 

Harrow & Hope is a small, family run vineyard and winery producing English Sparkling Wine.  This is a great opportunity to join this friendly and flexible team and further develop your experience in Sparkling Wine making.    

 

The cellar hand role will work closely with the Assistant Winemaker.  The main duties and responsibilities will include:  

 

§  Helping to load and unload the press

§  Juice and wine movements

§  Barrel work

§  Inoculating ferments and ferment monitoring

§  Basic lab work: testing for sugars, acids, ABV etc. (previous lab experience is desirable)

§  Keeping cellar and equipment clean and tidy

 

The Candidate:

 

§  Must be comfortable working at height and carrying up to 25kg 

§  Ability to work independently and with the team

§  Must be self-motivated and well organised. 

§  Valid UK forklift licence is a bonus but not essential 

 

This short-term role would suit someone looking to further enhance their training.   1 year+ winery experience and/or wine production qualification, beneficial but not essential.
