As home to the UK’s Centre for Excellence in Viticulture, Oenology and International Wine Business, the college has unrivalled facilities on an international stage, with its own vineyards, commercial winery and research and development labs.
As we look towards the future, we aim to expand our reach both nationally and internationally, implementing innovative courses and delivery models. To help us achieve this, we're seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Wine to join our team to lead this highly reputable wine team and provision onto its next stage of development as it seeks to play an ever more pivotal role in this fast growing and exciting sector.
In addition to leading our international team of experts delivering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, apprenticeship and part time educational programmes, the successful candidate will also oversee the continued success of the college’s own production of its award-winning Plumpton Estate wines, ensuring the very best student experience along the way, and one enhanced by sector led research and development. With a degree in Viticulture, Oenology, Business or related field, the successful candidate will lead the team and provision onto its next transformational phase in ensuring the UK wine industries future skills and education needs are met. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the wine industry, preferably in an education or business development role, the successful candidate will, working in partnership with Innovate UK, be able to harness the potential of the provision to extend onto a greater international footing.
