Join our dynamic team at Simpsons’ Wine Estate, where we craft award-winning English wines that capture the essence of our iconic chalk terroir in the North Downs of Kent. We’re currently seeking passionate individuals to join us as Harvest Cellar Hands for the 2024 vintage.

 

Role Overview:

As a Harvest Cellar Hand, you’ll be an integral part of our team, involved in various aspects of the winemaking process. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Fruit reception, including press loading and emptying

- Racking and wine transfers

- Ferment inoculations and chaptalisation

- Tank and equipment cleaning

- General cellar work, with some involvement in laboratory analysis

 

Skills and Qualifications:

We’re looking for candidates who possess the following:

- A strong team-working ethos and the ability to adapt quickly to new tasks

- Previous harvest experience, with confidence in undertaking the outlined responsibilities and a reasonable level of fitness

- Analytical and numerate skills, with meticulous attention to detail and hygiene in the work environment

- Forklift licence or experience, and winemaking qualifications are desirable

- Availability from mid-September to mid-November, with a willingness to work extended or antisocial hours as required

- Legally authorized to work in the UK; unfortunately, we do not offer sponsorships

- Ability to organise your own accommodation and transport
