This pivotal role requires a strong foundation in cool-climate viticulture, with the ability and flexibility to deliver multiple viticulture activities together with reporting and managing customer relations.
The Vineyard Technician must be motivated to achieve premium results for each client, including:
- Scout for disease, pests, nutrient deficiencies, phenology, and general vineyard health and performance.
- Train, supervise and work with operatives during vineyard activities e.g. shoot selection, pruning, harvesting etc.
- Undertake tractor operations e.g. mowing, cultivating, spraying, trimming etc.
- Record keeping and reporting details of vineyard activities and management requirements to the Viticulturist.
- Engagement with and support of clients annual vineyard programs.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the right candidate will have the chance to engage with the broader Vinescapes business, which includes research, training, and other activities, along with ad hoc tasks, as needed.
This role is primarily based at client sites in the South of England for approximately 85-90% of the time, with the remaining time office-based in Surrey, along with the option for some home working.
