Vine Care UK has a new and exciting opportunity for a hard-working, enthusiastic and committed vineyard operative to join its friendly, progressive team.
Vine Care UK offers vineyard management services throughout the South of England, offering everything from a complete management / care package to labour only. In addition, Vine Care UK offer consultancy and a trellis installation service. Vine Care UK also has two sister companies – The Vineyard Store (for the supply of vineyard materials) and The Grape Exchange (for the trading of fruit and bulk wine).
Vine Care UK operates a small fleet of Kubota ‘L Series’ tractors, but successful candidates will be expected to operate clients’ own tractors and kit too.
This multi-functional role involves spraying, mowing, vine trimming, under vine cultivation, relief trellis installation, fertiliser spreading, subsoiling as well as moving machinery and trellis materials as required. In addition, especially during the winter months, the successful candidate will be expected carrying out general vineyard work. They will work closely with and report to our vineyard managers.
The successful candidate must:
• Have a full, clean UK driving licence, with the ability to pull up to 3.5t trailers
• Have some basic mechanical knowledge
• Have previous tractor driving experience
• Have impeccable record-keeping skills
• Have good written and spoken English
• Be legally able to work in the UK
Desirable qualities
• Have a tractor-driving qualification (e.g. LANTRA)
• Have spraying qualifications (PA1, PA2 & PA3)
• Have a fork-lift operating licence
• Have experience working in cool climate vineyards
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of various computer applications such as Word and Excel.
Opportunities to progress further in the business. A standard 40 hour working week during the summer months and the harvest period it may be necessary to work additional hours. .
