Production and Procurement Manager (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Balfour Winery is looking to recruit a Production and Procurement Manager, to join their busy team on Hush Heath Estate. The winery is well established and produces, on average 400,000 bottles a year for a variety of sectors: trade, supermarkets, export, and to our own chain of pubs. This number will grow in the coming years with a growth curve gearing toward 750,000 bottles by 2024/25.

The successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role in the secondary production area, managing disgorging and labelling runs around orders whilst also ensuring that the winery is well stocked for dry goods. 

REPORTS TO: Head Winemaker

 

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

·        Manage all production operations: bottling, riddling, disgorging, labelling

·        Sourcing and ordering of consumables according to budget

·        Audit control

·        H&S control in winery and packaging

·        Management and supervision of staff and operational practice – winery, disgorging and labelling

EXPERIENCE:

·        Experience running disgorging and labelling lines

·        An understanding of the maintenance of machinery would be beneficial

·        Experience managing a production team

·        Forklift experience 

·        Driver’s License essential due to location

Job Type:

·        40 hours per week 8:30 - 17:00, with extra hours worked during peak times (Harvest/Bottling)
