Our vibrant Cellar Door, home to a Wine Bar & Shop, is a hub of activity throughout the week, welcoming over 8,000 visitors in 2024. From relaxed tastings and vineyard tours to weddings and corporate events, or simply curious walk-ins, our team is always busy — thanks in part to our direct, easy access from Central London.

We’re now looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and friendly Cellar Door Assistant to join our team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic English wine estate where no two days are the same — ideal for someone looking to build a career in wine.

About the Role

As a Cellar Door Assistant, you'll be at the forefront of creating memorable experiences for our visitors — leading engaging tours and tastings, delivering warm hospitality, and supporting the team across our Wine Bar and Shop.

You’ll work Thursday to Sunday, our busiest days, when the estate is at its liveliest with events, walk-ins, and private bookings. We’re looking for someone who is customer-focused, organised, and genuinely passionate about wine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up, hosting, and guiding wine tastings and tour

• Assisting with sales in the Wine Shop and providing advice to customers

• Supporting service, food preparation, and drink service in the Wine Bar

• Assisting the Cellar Door Manager with organisation, stock control, and orders

• Helping with events, private bookings, and other hospitality duties

• Opportunity to assist with cellar and vineyard work (if of interest)

Requirements:

• A genuine interest and good level of knowledge in wine is essential

• Formal wine qualifications are a plus but not required – full training provided, including WSET qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service is desirable

• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Outgoing and confident in engaging with guests

• Hard working and pro-active

• Reliable, well-presented, and a good team player

• Available to work Thursday to Sunday, with full-time hours condensed into these four days

• Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
