Woodchester Valley Vineyard is seeking a part-time Tasting Room Manager (25 hours/week average) to oversee their Tasting Operations and to conduct Tours and Tastings, working with their existing Tasting Room team. Candidates must be professional, articulate, hard-working, strong leaders who can handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and provide an exceptional experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for, oversee and be a hands-on role model for day-to-day floor operations in the Tasting Room, as well as, support our retail sales manager to execute Wine Club and e-commerce strategy and sales. The position requires an outgoing, well organized, self-motivated and disciplined individual who has a passion for hospitality and wine and is comfortable speaking in public. Relevant experience in the food and beverage industry and WSET qualifications are required.
Who We Are
Established in 2007 Woodchester Valley is a family run English vineyard and winery. Currently one of the largest vineyards in the South West with an annual production of over 100,000 plus bottles, growing year on year, we are located in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with our main base in South Woodchester. With 58 acres under vine, we focus on making quality still and sparkling wines, from grapes all grown on site and made in our winery. We have won multiple awards for our wines. We have our own retail shop situated on the A46. We run a busy schedule of tours and events year-round with approximately 10,000 visitors annually. We have a range of guest accommodation on site- rooms and self-catering units.
Role and Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Tasting Room which includes tours and tastings, visitor relations, staff performance, wine clubs and events

Train, schedule and supervise Tasting Room hosts and assistants in Tasting Room procedures

Inventory management of wine, retail merchandise and tasting room supplies and ensure the presentation of the Tasting Room is up to standard

Plan our Tour and Tasting Schedule, private tours and wine club events including food pairing and food events

Update and create Tasting Room literature and presentations.

Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash registers, and accounting for daily sales. Ensure that cash accounting is correct and complete at the end of the business day

Generate and maintain performance metrics to monitor sales and visitor numbers
Qualifications:

Minimum two years successful management experience,

A background in hospitality and customer service.

Experience in the food and wine industry is essential with a strong wine knowledge.

WSET qualifications

Good team management skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience in POS systems, reservation and bookings software and sales reporting.

A valid Drivers License
Hours:
Circa 25 hours a week including some weekends and evenings
Salary: Dependent upon experience
